Happy 6th birthday, Gray Bae!
Today, on your 6th birthday, I wanted to tell you how proud I am of you. You have officially started kindergarten (you didn’t stay back it’s due to your birthday) but not in the traditional way. The pandemic forced us into a lock down and we’ve been experiencing things like education a whole lot differently. There were some hard days and it truly broke my heart but you didn’t let those moments linger to long. You pushed through, sometimes better than me.
I wish we could have celebrated your day a bit better but due to the pandemic we had to keep things very low key. But, in true Gray fashion you loved it just the same. I hope your heart of gratitude never changes. When you were younger you loved the rain. I remember trying to rush out of the rain one day. I gave you my umbrella and I was running for the house. when I looked back I saw you stopped just smiling and stomping in puddles. I think that moment says a lot about yur personality. You didn’t let the rain ruin your day. You found the silver lining and enjoyed the moment rather than running from it. Till this day you find the silver linings and you enjoy the moments – even in a pandemic. That is something I truly admire about you.

Six Candles
You are a light that shines brighter each year. You are my favorite son, best big brother (Teigan lets you know every day) and if you ask me you’re also the coolest little brother. You are always looking out for Livi and making sure she doesn’t miss out on any treats or activities. You also try to help with Teigan and we all know, she’s a handful. Your kindness is still your superpower, please don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. Continue to be you – continue to shine bright.
I wonder what new superhero you will be into this coming chapter. Your interest seems to include a new superhero each year. I can’t seem to keep up with them all. But right now you are into Power Rangers. Levi Westin seems to be your favorite Power Ranger and every now and again we all get sucked into watching episode after episode with you. Thank you for being patient with us and answering all the questions we have about your favorite show.
You still say that you want to be a doctor (along with superhero) when asked what do you want to be when you grow up. It wasn’t something that we put in your head like most parents do. But it came from your own desire and seem to solidify when we were in an accident and you were in the hospital. I’m not sure if it’ll change but I will support you either way.
My World With You In It
Grayson, you are one of my greatest blessings. Six years ago you made me a Boy mom and added superheroes, villains and nonstop adventures to my motherhood journey. You make me laugh every day. And, you also make me nervous (seriously) with all the climbing and jumping you do – but I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. I am so proud of the big kid you’ve grown to be. You bring fun and light into my world. I know this chapter is new terrain for many of us, with the world the way it is. But, I have hope that you will find all the silver linings. You will dance and laugh and you will elevate the energy around you – in a way that only you can.
Happy 6th birthday!
Love you to the moon and back
