Christmas Gift Guide: Family Game Night

In our family we always do one family gift for Christmas. This is a gift that we can enjoy as a family. Do you do the same? This year I’m thinking about a new family game and I have a few sitting in my Amazon cart. I know, I know – I said ONE but I like to see all my options before deciding 😉 Luckily, I have Amazon Prime which means I have plenty of time to think about a final decision. Today I’m sharing our 5 favorite games and also the ones that made it in my Amazon cart.

Our #1 Favorite Family Game

Our #1 favorite game is (drumroll please)…Jenga! Yep, we ALL love Jenga. It’s such an easy game and Teigan my youngest (2 yo) plays too. She’s actually really good at it. Maybe its that her fingers are so little – who knows but little mama is good at pushing those blocks through without moving the other ones. Now taking turns is still a work in progress but we’re getting there. This game is so simple it makes it fun. I mean, seriously what kid doesn’t like knocking blocks down?

Other Family Game Favorites

Connect Four – As a kid I loved Connect Four. My older siblings were into checkers but I felt Connect Four leveled the playing field. In checkers I rarely won but Connect Four I won more than I lost – lol. We have two of these and we rotate players. The losing challenger has to move their seat.

Let’s Go Fishing – This is another game that has really simple rules and Teigan loves being able to play.

The Floor is Lava – This game can be played indoors and outdoors and can get a bit loud.

Hungry Hippo – This one is Gray’s favorite and easy enough for Teigan to play as well. We  lost the directions the first day and have no idea what the red ball means. Sometimes we make a random rule for the red ball and sometimes we just play without it.
