Not much is certain these days but I think we can all agree that Halloween will be different this year. Trick-or-treating has already been canceled in our city. Honestly, I’m not a fan of the going door-to-door for candy so no biggie here. But, the school halloween party with matching family costumes is something I enjoy doing with the kids and that’s been pretty much canceled, too. So – now what?
We’re trading our family themed costumes for some family pajamas as we eat somewhat healthy treats and watching halloween movies that are not so scary. If you are celebrating halloween on the less scary side then I have 18 Netflix movies that you can stream.

No Tricks, Just Treats
Are you a sugar mama or do you ration yours kids candy throughout the year? I’m definitely the latter and thanks to Covid I don’t have to do that this year (silver linings). Best part is that I can also opt for some somewhat healthier treats like these I found on Pinterest:
- Halloween Popcorn – Chocolate drizzled popcorn (You can add some M&Ms for a sweet and salty combo)
- Spider Snack – These are the cutest Ritz Crackers made to look like a spider with cream cheese (or favorite spread) and pretzel sticks.
- Hot Dog Mummies – A halloween take on the traditional pigs in a blanket.
- Mummy Jalapeño Poppers – Another halloween twist on a family favorite – jalapeño poppers
- Charcuterie board of Boo-Treats– All Sweets no tricks.
Chill in Multi-Purpose Pajamas
I’m far from the Pinterest mom. I wish I was, but 3 kids and working full time – I just don’t have it in me and that’s okay because there’s kits for people like me. I found these cute Chalk of the Town pumpkin chalkboard tees on Amazon (I directly linked the pics below to my Amazon storefront for easy purchasing). These pumpkins are ready to decorate with a whole lot less mess and a whole lot more functionality than real pumpkins. They can wear their orange pumpkin shirt with the bottom half of these black and white checkered pajamas. Best part about these pajamas (y’all know I’m frugal, lol) is that these pajamas are not just a wear once and done, you can wear these beyond the holidays just change out the top. Our Christmas theme this year will be filled with black and white buffalo check accents so these pajamas are transitional between holidays and perfect for fall and winter as well.
