Congratulations you are a potty training mommy! You may want to stay home till your little one is fully potty trained but let’s be real mama – they’ll be errands outside the home. Having a potty training bag will make life easier. So what goes into the potty training bag? I’m glad you asked 🙂

10 Potty Training Bag Essentials
1. One Complete Outfit Including Socks
Pack the whole outfit to avoid mismatching after an accident and switch them out as your child advances to a larger size. I accidentally failed to switch out the clothes and my son ended up looking like Frankenstein in winter. It looked so homely it was defintely a mom fail on my part… so, please don’t do that to your kids and change out the outfit as they grow.
2. Shoes
Pee may end up in their shoes and some children don’t want to walk around in wet shoes. For me, my nose never recovered after pregnancy. It is still very sensitive. When my toddler had an accident that reached her shoes I smelled it the whole way home. It really messed with me so I decided a cheap pair of plastic shoes would save my nose. Also plastic shoes like crocs or a cheaper alternative makes cleanup a breeze.
3. Changing pad
You still may need to use the changing table depending how bad the accident is. Also some restrooms aren’t exactly the cleanest so rather than having your child stand on a dirty floor they can stand on the foldable changing pad https://www.amazon.com/shop/withlove_fromcatt?listId=1Q9D0I9MHWJ6V&ref=idea_share_infwhile you clean them up.
4. Pull Ups
I am all about the big girl and big boy underwear but after one accident I resort to pull-ups while I am out. The reason is because one accident is usually a task and can be stressing for you and your toddler. To keep the outing from being overly stressful and still encourage potty training, Pull-ups are a great backup.
5. Wipes
I have Kandoo flushable wipes in our PR bag (public restroom bag) and also in the potty training bag because they are very useful. There may be a time when you need a wet one to clean up an accident. Wipes are also very useful in preventing your child from smelling like a walking potty after an accident.
6. Paper Towels
You never know what’s really going to be available in the public restroom. I’ve used paper towels from my stash when the dispenser was empty to dry hands.
7. Travel Potty Seat
The Poppy Potty travel potty seat is my favorite because it completely covers a public toilet (and whatever may be growing there) but can also be used when there is no restroom available. It sits like a potty chair and has liners to catch waste and pee- so it’s a win-win!
8. Plastic Bags
It’s really important to keep a few extra plastic bags on hand to contain wet or stinky messes. The Munchkin Arm and Hammer Diaper Bag Dispenser is nice because it is compact and has a neutralizing smell. You can also reuse plastic shopping bags.
9. Travel Chlorox Wipes
Ths is another item I also keep in our PR bag. You really never know what you’re going to find in a public restroom, and sometimes you need a little back up. I’ve used the Chlorox wipes to wipe down the toilet seat and also to wipe down the travel potty seat before putty it back in the bag.
10. Hand Sanitizer
Another PR bag crossover is hand sanitizer. When there is no soap in the restroom hand sanitizer makes a great backup.
